Gas ignition and pilot burners

Plasma Ignition Systems
Our DURAG microwave plasma ignition systems safely ignite hard-to-ignite fuels such as biomass, coal, gases, and special fuels - even in oxygen-poor or oxygen-free atmospheres. Since no ignition fuels are required, complex media supply is eliminated. The well-thought-out design ensures maximum efficiency, high effectiveness, low wear, and reliable availability.
High-Energy Ignition Systems
Our DURAG high-energy ignition systems provide a safe and direct ignition of gas and liquid fuels with significantly more ignition energy than high-voltage ignitions. The ignition spark is precisely positioned via an ignition lance, and a retraction device protects the ignition tip from wear. These robust systems are ideal for demanding industrial applications and less susceptible to moisture and contamination.
Torch Ignition Systems
With our torch ignition systems from DURAG, you can safely ignite exhaust gases in stack flares, air- and steam-assisted flares, as well as ground flares. The pilot burners enable you to operate the flare safely with reliable ignition and stable burning even under the most challenging climatic conditions. Maintenance or replacement of the pilot burner is not possible during operation for most flare systems.
Mobile Ignition Systems
Our mobile ignition systems are ideal for manually igniting small gas burners or applications without a pilot burner. They are based on high-energy ignition devices and allow for easy one-person operation. The mobile units are available as carts with two or four wheels, can hold up to four gas cylinders, and can be customized to meet your specific requirements.

Gas Burners
Our gas burners are based on the principle of swirl burners. Thanks to the specially developed mixing device for air and gas at the burner head, they ensure you a reliable operation with a wide power control range, which extends up to a ratio of 1:10. The mixing device can be flexibly adjusted and optimized to a variety of gas compositions, flame shapes, and fire chamber conditions.
Oil burners
Our oil burners are based on the principle of compressed air or oil pressure atomization as swirl or vortex burners. With a special mixing device construction for air and fuel at the burner head, a flame-stable operation with a wide power control range up to a ratio of 1:5 is possible. You can flexibly adjust and optimize the mixing device to different fuel properties such as calorific value and viscosity, flame shapes, and various fire chamber conditions.
Flame Monitoring - So you can continuously monitor flames and have more security.
In the safety technology of combustion systems, our DURAG flame monitors play a crucial role. They reliably monitor the presence of a burner flame for you. This prevents dangerous amounts of fuel from accumulating in the combustion chamber in case of an unexpected flame extinction, which could lead to an explosion upon reignition. With our DURAG flame monitors, you continuously monitor the presence of an intact flame for safe and smooth operation.
Optical Flame Monitoring
With our optical flame detectors, you can effectively and trouble-free monitor the flame by continuously observing and measuring the flame radiation. Depending on the model, the average radiation intensity or the strength of fluctuations in the ultraviolet, visible, infrared, or in several of these spectral ranges is analyzed to capture the characteristic properties of the flame. A comparison with a predetermined threshold value at installation and the selection of a spectral range optimized for the specific flame radiation allow for a precise differentiation between the signals of different flames in multi-burner systems. Our optical flame detectors at SCHMACHTL also ensure reliable and safe monitoring even with high-performance burners and changing fuels.
Ionization Flame Monitoring
Our ionization flame detectors at SCHMACHTL offer you an effective and trouble-free monitoring of the flame by using a metallic ionization electrode that directly immerses into the flame. The flame forms an electrically conductive connection between the ionization electrode and the burner or ignition burner mechanism, which serves as a ground potential. At the same time, the flame acts as a rectifier for the ionization current. This direct current signal is measured in the flame monitor and used to make the decision "Flame ON/OFF". Our ionization flame detectors are characterized by very good spatial selectivity and are ideal for use in your ignition and pilot burners.

Burner Controls
Our DURAG burner controls enable you to control gas and oil burners as well as combined gas/oil burners of any capacity in a norm-compliant, safe, and reliable manner. They control and monitor the supply of combustion air, ignition, opening and closing of fuel valves, as well as flame formation in defined sequential processes. For every industrial combustion application, we offer robust and reliable burner controls. Since the inputs and outputs, as well as the processes and controls of the burner controls, depend on the specific requirements, they can be flexibly adjusted and configured on-site.

Display Module
The display module of our partner DURAG is an extension for the combustion controller D GF 150 and offers a variety of functions. It includes, among other things, the initial value display, a clear text display for easy operation and error diagnosis, as well as the possibility of fieldbus communication. This module enhances the functionality of the combustion controller and allows for even more efficient monitoring and control of combustion systems.

Our DURAG pressure monitor is an essential component for integration into a higher-level control system. It measures the pressure and provides a precise signal to the control unit. This allows you to have reliable monitoring and control of the pressure.
Video and Thermography - For precise visualization of your combustion processes.
Our video and thermography solutions allow you to visualize the combustion process in combustion plants with precision, providing you with a detailed real-time image of the current combustion situation. Around the clock, video images from the combustion chamber are provided to you, complemented by an analysis of flame temperature distribution. These comprehensive pieces of information enable you to have optimal monitoring and control of the combustion process.
Video and Thermography Systems
Our video and thermography systems are specifically tailored to your respective industrial applications and optimally meet the industry-specific requirements. This includes, for example, quality improvement in cement production, optimization of the combustion process in waste incineration, reduction of wear and downtime in power plants for energy generation, or prevention of pipe ruptures in petrochemical furnace gaps.
Depending on your needs, you can combine air-cooled or water-cooled firebox cameras, optionally with or without a retraction device, with our powerful video and thermography software as well as application-specific software modules.
Video and Thermography Software
Our DURAG video and thermography software is compatible with all digital DURAG furnace cameras and can be expanded modularly. This means that you can easily upgrade our video system D-VT 50 to the D-VTA 200 video and thermography system at a later stage.
Furthermore, you can later expand the D-VTA 200 basic software with various software modules to meet your different application requirements.
The thermography software is part of the D-VTA 200 system and calculates the temperature distribution from the video images. It works similar to an optical pyrometer for each pixel. In the temperature images, you can freely define measurement points (ROIs) and transfer their values directly to the plant control system via digital interfaces.
Firebox Cameras
Our firebox cameras penetrate directly through the furnace or boiler wall into the firebox, allowing you to have a comprehensive view of the combustion process. With the video and thermography software, you can conveniently control them remotely. Our firebox cameras are either air-cooled or water-cooled and designed for extreme temperatures of up to 2000 °C.
The high-performance special optics with a diameter of 40 mm and the integrated digital cameras ensure razor-sharp video images.
For your safe operation, we provide special flanges with protective tubes for fixed installation. Optionally, we also offer a pneumatic retraction device that withdraws the camera from the hot area in case of insufficient cooling.
