Cleaning robot in use: Peneder relies on sustainable building cleaning with the PUDU CC1.

Automation & Robotics

In the entrance area of Peneder, modern architecture meets innovative technology: The cleaning robot PUDU CC1 ensures a clean foyer every day - quietly, reliably, and completely without chemicals. A visible sign of practiced sustainability.

Seit ein paar Monaten ist der PUDU CC1 in der Peneder Basis im Einsatz.

Peneder is a fourth-generation Upper Austrian family business with a focus on industrial construction and fire protection. At the company headquarters in Atzbach, the subsidiary FIX Building Security + Service GmbH has been ensuring smooth building operations for many years. FIX, as a facility service provider with over 120 employees, covers the entire service range in the areas of facility management and facility services - for commercial, industrial, public sector, and residential construction throughout the entire DACH region.

Beate Peneder-Weinhäupl, Managing Director at Peneder, emphasizes: "We particularly appreciate the cost- and energy-optimized building maintenance and professional technical building management in our collaboration with FIX."

The Challenge: A Foyer That Never Stayed Clean for Long

The Peneder corporate headquarters, built in 2010, is an architectural highlight and at the same time a modern working and meeting space. So far, the 900 square meter entrance foyer including the public area on the first floor has been manually cleaned twice a week with a cleaning machine - but with limited success: the high-maintenance terrazzo floor already showed clear signs the next day.

The Solution: Robots Instead of Manual Labor

In search of a more sustainable and efficient solution, FIX Building Security + Service GmbH tested the cleaning robot PUDU CC1 from the company SCHMACHTL. The results soon convinced: the robot reliably met all requirements and was eventually integrated into the building operations.

Eva Pfeiler, Team Leader at FIX, explains: "Instead of continuing to fight the high cleaning effort with conventional methods, we decided to rethink the cleaning service. As a technical building service provider, we deliberately looked for a technical solution - and found it with the PUDU CC1."

Fully Automatic Cleaning

Patrick Hinterholzer, Specialist for Autonomous Mobile Robots at SCHMACHTL, summarizes the advantages: "The robot autonomously performs the daily cleaning of the heavily frequented foyer. It combines several functions in one device - it can sweep, vacuum, scrub, and mop."

The cleaning robot is mainly used at night, so that the entrance area is always clean in the morning. In addition, the device can be flexibly converted and can reliably handle carpet areas or areas for wet mopping.

Sustainable and Cost-Efficient

For Peneder, the ecological aspect was also crucial. "Our company headquarters is completely supplied with electricity from renewable energies - the cleaning robot also operates exclusively on green electricity. Moreover, as it cleans only with water and without any chemicals, it fits perfectly into our sustainability strategy," says Peneder-Weinhäupl.

The investment also pays off economically. "The robot works completely autonomously. This means: no personnel costs, no replacements, no downtime. This saves time and costs and gives our team more space for other important tasks," explains Pfeiler.

Added Value on All Levels

Soon, thanks to an Elevator Control Box, the cleaning robot will be able to autonomously ride the elevator - and thus clean further floors without manual intervention.

A crucial buying argument was the mobile water tank of the PUDU CC1, which holds 15 liters of fresh and 15 liters of dirty water. Especially in the Peneder foyer, where there is no suitable water connection, this solution proved to be ideal. For cleaning the approximately 900 square meters, the robot only needs half a battery charge and seven to eight liters of water - so it covers the entire area with just half a tank. This will enable it to clean additional floors in the future without having to refill water or recharge the battery in between.

Conclusion: Technology That Inspires

After several months in operation, it is clear: the PUDU CC1 is much more than a technical toy. It has established itself as an indispensable support - fully automatic, efficient, and environmentally friendly.

"With the PUDU CC1, we have not only achieved cleanliness at a new level, but also a solution that perfectly fits our company philosophy," concludes Beate Peneder-Weinhäupl.
