Schachermayer relies on robotics: 210,000 m² automatically cleaned weekly.

Automation & Robotics

Rethinking cleaning: As one of Austria's leading trading companies, Schachermayer faced a clear challenge: rising operating costs, staff shortages, and quality differences in building cleaning. Together with SCHMACHTL, a solution was implemented that demonstrates what modern automation can achieve today.

The Challenge

The company Schachermayer faced typical challenges of modern building cleaning: rising costs for external cleaning service providers, fluctuating quality standards, and the increasing shortage of personnel in the cleaning industry.

In a building complex that extends from the ground floor to the 7th floor, an efficient and reliable solution was needed.

Pudu MT1 in action - cleaning & elevator ride in one.

The Solution

A fleet of robots, consisting of three Pudu MT1 sweeping robots and one Pudu CC1 scrubbing robot. These navigate fully autonomously through the entire building complex – including the use of elevators from the ground floor to the 7th floor.

We at SCHMACHTL implemented a forward-looking fleet of robots consisting of:

  • 3x Pudu MT1 Sweeping Robots for coarse dirt removal and sweeping activities
  • 1x Pudu CC1 Scrubber Robot for wet cleaning

Real results that convince

  • 210,000 sqm cleaning area covered weekly
  • Fully autonomous navigation across 8 floors
  • 24/7 operation without personnel effort
  • Amortization after just 1 quarter due to massive cost savings

In addition to the drastic cost reduction and rapid ROI, the solution offers real added value for the workforce: A noticeably cleaner working environment ensures higher satisfaction and contributes to the health of the employees. Thanks to automated processes, consistently high standards are ensured – regardless of external factors such as staff turnover or absences.

Technology that integrates

The seamless integration of robotics into the existing infrastructure – particularly the connection to two elevator systems – demonstrates how strongly technology and practice can merge. The robots plan and complete their routes entirely independently – floor by floor, around the clock.

Automation with added value

This project is a prime example of how well-thought-out automation not only reduces costs but also sustainably improves working conditions. SCHMACHTL shows how robot solutions in facility management bring real, measurable benefits – for today and tomorrow.
